Newark, New Jersey – As Artisan Manufacturing’s many customers know, the kitchen and bath products manufacturer does everything with style. That is still the case while supporting awareness and research for a cure for breast cancer, as Artisan’s Vice President Joseph Amabile is a participant in the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’s Real Men Wear Pink campaign and fundraiser. Customers, colleagues and cancer advocates are invited to support the effort through donations or words of encouragement on Amabile’s campaign webpage.
“While pink may not be my go-to color choice for most of the year, I am a believer in paying it forward, and the Real Men Wear Pink program is a great way to show my support for people with cancer. This relentless disease has touched almost everyone in some way, myself included” Amabile said. “Artisan has risen to the occasion to support our team, The Artisan Arsenal, and we hope others will join this important initiative. Any amount helps, and together, we can support research that helps those fighting cancer while raising awareness about early detection and prevention.”
Real Men Wear Pink is a distinguished group of community leaders raising awareness and funds for this year's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. Amabile and Artisan are supporting the ACS because of its groundbreaking research to find, prevent and treat breast cancer by ensuring access to mammograms for women who need them and free information, services and resources about the disease. In 2015, over 15,000 people walked in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk of Parsippany. Over $715,000 was raised for Breast Cancer Research and Services. In addition to being the largest voluntary health organization in the United States, the American Cancer Society is the largest, private, not-for-profit funder of cancer research. They fund young researchers with new ideas. This has resulted in 47 of our funded researchers going on to win a Nobel Prize. In 2016, 246,660 women are expected to be newly diagnosed, along with 2,600 men. One out of two newly diagnosed people will come to the American Cancer Society for help.
Artisan will also donate a portion of its sales for September and October to the American Cancer Society in support of its breast cancer awareness campaigns. Local rock cover band Baby Face Finster, for which Amabile is the vocalist, is also involved. The band will play a benefit fundraiser at The Corner Pub and Eatery in Flanders, New Jersey, on Saturday, October 8. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the ACS. Come on down, listen to some great tunes, enjoy some delicious food, all while making a difference in someone diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
To support Amabile and Artisan’s individual campaign goal of raising $5,000, please visit the team webpage. Amabile will participate in the Making Strides of Parsippany walk on Sunday, October 16 at the Mack Cali Business Campus, 4 Century Drive, Parsippany. To date, 108 teams and 333 participants have raised approximately $21,486. To learn more about Artisan Manufacturing, visit artisanstyles.com.
