I am so over boring photo frames. That’s why I’ve been on a mission to find the coolest, most creative ways to display photos. If your favorite snapshots are just collecting dust, today’s post is definitely for you.

I’ve found some amazing DIY projects and some really unique things you can buy that will give your pictures a ton of personality. We’ve got 20 of our favorite methods for getting creative with your pictures right here.

Unique Tabletop Ideas

We’re kicking things off with a few tabletop options that are anything but standard. I’m a sucker for anything with a vintage vibe, and this Tabletop Photo Carousel from Pottery Barn totally nails that look.

What’s great is that it feels right at home in both traditional spaces and more modern ones, too.

For a totally different feel, you can use crystals and craft wire to make a Mineral Photo Display that will hold your favorite pictures.

In the tutorial, Emma from A Beautiful Mess gives some guidance for working with the wire. It’s such a cool idea!

You can also whip up a DIY Mini Photo Christmas Tree from Homey Oh My!, or you could make this tree work all year long in your home. It uses fotobit frames that can be linked together in whatever arrangement you want!

Framed Wall Art

Okay, I know we’re starting with wall frames, which can feel like the go-to for photo displays, but the options I’ve found are really special! This Picture Frame Set from Urban Outfitters comes with ten frames in all different sizes.

You can pick from white, wood, or black, and it takes all the stress out of trying to match a set on your own. One purchase gives you everything for an immediate gallery wall. Pro tip: For a true gallery vibe, mix in pictures of places or nature instead of just family photos.

Grids are super popular right now, and this Umbra Gridart Frame from Urban Outfitters is amazing for showing off your favorite Instagram pictures. I mean, this wooden frame will definitely be a conversation starter wherever you put it:

For a laid-back, colorful style that’s perfect for a home office, dorm, or kid’s room, you have to check out this Hanging Photo Sleeve from PB Teen. You can get it in Grey, Royal Navy, or Pool, which is what you see here:

For a totally unexpected way to show off pictures, Emma from A Beautiful Mess made a border around a doorway and added some patterned paper for a unique touch:

Next on the list are wall features that use a whole bunch of photos at once. You can make your own for less than $20 with things like Mod Podge and foam core boards.

If you don’t feel like gluing each picture into a collage, you can order a photo poster from Social Print Studio. You just have to pick between 50 and 200 of your Instagram photos, and they will handle the rest. It’s another great take on the grid trend! You can even pay a little extra to have the poster framed.

Wow, just wow! I am absolutely loving this huge grid display above the fireplace from A Beautiful Mess blogger Elsie Larson.

The photos are attached with painter’s tape, so they’re easy to put up and take down. Plus, using all black and white pictures gives it a really clean, unified look:

To get a wall installation that mixes photo display fun with the current grid trend, this Metal Grid Photo Display from RH Teen is a modern statement. You can fill it with pictures or leave some areas empty to really highlight the grid itself:

Creative Hanging Displays

When you hang your photos along a string, it gives off a casual, spontaneous, and totally creative vibe. This Copper Photo Clip Banner from Urban Outfitters is accompanied by 5 metal geo clips:

You could also be bold and cover a whole wall with photo string displays! Also from Urban Outfitters, this Metal Photo Clip String Set comes with 12 clips and one string.

But as you can tell from the picture, there’s strength in numbers, so feel free to order a few to give your wall a new lease on life.
