When it comes to interior design, few colors are as effective at evoking instant joy as yellow. This happy shade can transform a bedroom into an optimistic and cheerful space, perfect for starting your day on a bright note.

Here are some of my favourite yellow bedroom interior design ideas to help you create the perfect sunny space.

Mr. Kate had me falling head over heels for this modern showstopper. I just love how the bright, mustard-toned yellow and the crisp white details are a perfect pairing.

But it’s those sharp edges and the contemporary art on the walls that really make this bedroom a star.

Ideal Home went with one of the most stylish color combinations out there: yellow and gray. It feels both subdued and romantic, but because of the bright yellow, it still adds that happy, funky vibe we all adore.

I think it’s a perfect look for more youthful spaces, too.

Over at Houzz, I found a bedroom infused with a beautiful Victorian quality.

There’s such a royal feeling surrounding this golden yellow and its gilded accents. That headboard and the floral pattern really punch up the traditional nod.

Of course, I couldn’t make a list of yellow bedrooms without including one that involves a bit of black and white.

It’s a classic trio of colors that works so well for anyone who loves contemporary interior design. Domino featured this gorgeous space, and it’s easy to see why.

All the other little details in the room just make it feel a bit more funky and fun.

We’re back at BHG with another vintage, cottage-inspired space. It’s so feminine and has a definite throwback feel.

But, it’s also one that is incredibly welcoming and warm—absolutely perfect for a guest room.

BHG gives us a more traditional take on the classic bedroom, and I love its yellow dressing.

It’s more of a golden mustard, which pairs so well with both creams and browns. It also holds that traditional, wooden furniture beautifully.

Here’s another young lady’s bedroom that I’m quite fond of. It’s the perfect mix of big-girl style and charming darling with the art and modern touches throughout the space.

Serena and Lilly has more to get inspired by if you love this look.

I found another creamy and golden yellow combination over at Decorisme. This one also had a cottage, vintage-vibe that I was really inspired by.

This space is truly all about texture, and this happy shade sets a gorgeous foundation for it all.

Technically, this is a cream room, but because of its crisp foundation, the mustard on the bed really takes the focus.

I just love the clean palette of this modern, minimal space. A big thank you to Pinterest for giving us these great bits of inspiration.

Here’s another subdued area to peek at from BHG. I love how well yellows play along with natural sunlight.
