15 Majestic Mediterranean Entryway Ideas

I don’t know about you, but for me, the entryway sets the tone for the entire house. When the vibe is off, I don’t feel ready to welcome people in with that warm, inviting feeling.
This year, I decided to ignore boring designs and focus on something with drama and elegance. That’s why I’m sharing these stunning Mediterranean entry ideas today!
Get That Tuscan Charm
Okay, so what if you don’t have a huge front yard or a massive budget for one of those super grand Mediterranean-inspired entryways? Don’t even worry! I found so many cost effective ways to get that old world Tuscan charm you’re dreaming of.
A great place to start is with an ornate, arched ceiling. And if you can add a colorful, hand-painted mural, that’s even better. Arches are a huge part of this design style, so you want to make sure your windows and doorways show that off too.
I am a huge fan of adding a beautiful console table with traditional Italian charm. It’s such a functional piece but also adds a beautiful touch. When it comes to lighting, I think lantern style lights and wall sconces are way better than modern pendants here.
Antique bowls and vintage decor pieces are just perfect for this elegant space. And don’t forget how important natural greenery is when you’re planning for your entryway!
A Stunning Staircase
One of my all time favorite features of a Mediterranean entry has to be the grand staircase. It is such a classic part of the style that has been popular for centuries and it still looks just as amazing today!
Of course, you need a house with multiple levels to pull this off, with the ground floor dedicated just to the entry. The twin staircase look takes that grandeur to a whole new level.
Add in a stunning chandelier, maybe a malachite center table, and a water feature or two, and you have a truly royal entry that will leave guests completely speechless.
Blending With Modern
Just because you have a Mediterranean entry doesn’t mean you have to commit to that style for the whole house. An entry with modern touches lets you shift into a more modern space so easily.
One idea is to move away from bright colors and warm earthen tones and instead choose more polished gray finishes. You can also use doors, console tables, and wall art to help with this transition by mixing modern pieces with classic Tuscan ones.
Designing The Outside
As I said before, it all starts right at the entryway, and a Mediterranean theme is perfect for adding things like exotic plants, dreamy lighting, and a winding path to your front garden. If you don’t have a front lawn to work with, that’s okay!
The structure of your house, some detailed decorations, and a gorgeous wooden door with classic Tuscan style can bring in that traditional feel. For an entry with a more modern look, curved glass doors with dark steel frames are a great choice.
I love that they let you combine the Mediterranean look with contemporary, minimal, and even industrial styles.
