I get so excited when I get to talk about home design, especially when it comes to kitchens and paint colors! If you’re looking for a fresh way to give your kitchen a quick makeover for the new year, I have so much goodness to share with you.

We’re moving away from the simple white backsplash and thinking more vibrant for 2025! I’ve pulled together five of the best colorful backsplash options I’ve been seeing everywhere. I hope you’ll find something that inspires you!

1. Fresh and Natural

Let’s talk about a color that doesn’t always get the spotlight but is poised to be a huge hit. I’m talking about green! So many of us are looking for ways to give our homes a more ‘green’ feel.

If you can’t bring nature right inside, why not borrow from its most beautiful color for a bright green backsplash? I know it feels right at home in tropical, eclectic, or even shabby chic styles.

But I really think you should give it a try in a modern kitchen. It can create such an inspiring and entirely new look!

2. Dark and Dramatic

This one is a personal favorite of mine when we’re talking about kitchen backsplashes. Let’s talk about black. I feel like black is such an underused color in the modern kitchen, and it’s a shame!

If you have a gorgeous kitchen with white and wood tones, a black backsplash makes perfect sense for a bold visual statement.

I love that you can choose between a matte finish or something with a little more glitter, depending on your lighting and the style you want. Whether it’s black subway tiles or a brick wall painted black, there are so many possibilities to love here.

3. Sophisticated and On-Trend

Gray is a color that’s definitely here to stay, and I think it will be for years! You can use it as a neutral for a calming backdrop, or you can use it as a perfect accent in a white kitchen.

I love that gray is a color that makes a big impact but still feels so sophisticated. When you’re picking the right gray for your backsplash, it really just depends on how you want to use it.

A darker gray is beautiful in moderation, while lighter grays can create an amazing monochromatic look.

4. The Always-Perfect Classic

If I had to pick one color in home decorating that you can always count on, it would absolutely be blue.

It’s no surprise that it’s the most popular color for bright kitchen backsplashes, and I find it’s what so many homeowners go to as their first choice. And the reasons are so simple! Blue works with pretty much any style you can imagine.

It has a whole world of shades and tints to choose from. Plus, it gives a white kitchen such a bright and comfortable feeling.

5. A Glamorous Metallic Shine

Okay, I know a copper backsplash isn’t just about adding color, but it’s becoming so popular that I just had to include it! I’ve been seeing it everywhere.

You can do hexagonal copper tiles, copper penny tiles, simple copper sheets, or even weathered copper tiles.

I’m telling you, using a backsplash this bright can turn an old and boring kitchen into something with a huge impact that you’ll love for years.
