There are so many options when it comes to decorating a powder room, but one of my favourite things about these small spaces is the chance to go all-in on a theme.

In this article, I’m sharing some of my favourite design styles to inspire you and help you create the perfect little room for your home.

Embrace Shabby Chic Charm

What I love about the shabby chic look is the freedom it gives you to really let your personality shine through. You can bring in some wonderfully eclectic touches to the small powder room, but the trick is to avoid going overboard, which can make the space feel cluttered.

The best approach is to stick to just two or three main colors to tie everything together. A crisp white is often the star in the best shabby chic powder rooms. That doesn’t mean you have to avoid color completely, though!

Bring in the Beachy Vibes

If you’re after a style that screams light, bright, and happy all year round, you just can’t go wrong with beach style. It’s a look that feels like a breath of fresh air! It’s so easy to create this vibe, and white is the perfect color to tie it all together.

You can toss in some pops of blue, from a light sky blue to a deep navy, and then have fun with coastal themed decor. Think about adding details like ropes, starfishes, or even a ship wheel to really nail that breezy coastal look.

Go Minimalist with Scandinavian Style

Another fabulous option that’s always on trend and easy to pull off from a modern starting point is Scandinavian style. This look is all about minimalism, simplicity, and doing more with less.

You won’t find a ton of color here, and there’s a huge emphasis on natural light. The decor is usually made from wood, which brings a wonderfully cozy feel to a tiny powder room.

There are plenty of different takes on this style you can try out, with some feeling more contemporary than others. No matter which direction you choose, Scandinavian style powder rooms are always a delight.
