20 Amazing Beach-Inspired Bedroom Ideas

Hi you guys! I’m so excited about a new decorating project I’m working on. I am finally giving our main bedroom a much needed coastal makeover, yay!
My hope is to show you the process I use to visualize a room and then share the final reveal when it’s complete. I have gathered all of my inspiration photos to get the process started and wanted to share all of the details with you.
1. A Smart Murphy Bed
If you’re working with a smaller room, a pull-down bed can be a total game-changer for making the space more functional. I love how this one is set up with incredibly fluffy pillows and its own reading lights.
It feels so luxurious, and any guest would be so impressed!
2. Below the Surface
I love the way the colors white and blue are layered right next to each other here. It really gives you the feeling that even when you’re in the ocean, the clouds are still within reach.
That artwork above the bed, which shows an ocean scene, just completes the whole look. So beautiful!
3. Colorful and Bright
A mix of vibrant fabrics creates such a lovely beachy atmosphere in this room. What really catches my eye is how the green curtain is a perfect match for the twin nightstands. I just love that coordinated detail!
4. Queen Bed Oasis
You can really set a relaxing mood for sleep when you hang a pair of oars over a truly regal headboard. The whole design is pulled together with a mix of sandy browns, ocean blues, and whites for a really comforting beach room. Isn’t it an amazing combination?
5. A Collector’s Dream
The beach is just a fantastic place for people who love to collect things because there is always so much to find. For a room with a beach focus, you can really let your inner collector shine.
Wondering how to fill that shelf you installed? It’s the perfect spot to show off your sea glass collection, incredible shell discoveries, or any other treasures to make the space your own.
6. Tropical and Fresh
The pop of turquoise on this headboard brings such a tropical feeling to an all-white bedroom. I also really love the wooden bench, which is styled with an evergreen palm and some other natural little ornaments.
7. Soft Washed Blue
The amazing natural light in this room really makes the impeccable white and very soft, washed-out blue of the bed and cabinet stand out. As an accent, the artwork features oceanside plants and animals.
8. Palm Tree Artwork
This is such a cool bedroom! It has a warm rattan headboard paired with a coastal striped rug. I think adding some greenery is also a brilliant way to bring in a natural touch.
9. A Quiet Boost
Using a headboard covered with multiple pillows and linens in different textures can do amazing things for a beach-themed room.
The brown seagrasses add a nice lift to the overall brown-toned decor here. It’s so subtle but makes a big impact.
10. A Pebbled Palette
Is it possible to have a beach bedroom without using white and blue? Absolutely! How about trying some really nice warm tones with accents of sand, stone, and driftwood?
Adding some wool blankets gives it an extra cozy feeling, don’t you think?
11. Tides and Sky
This bedroom is designed to soothe away your daily stresses, letting you drift right into dreamland with your back against the waves. I think the tidal pattern on the bed cover is just perfect for enhancing the sky mural above the headboard.
12. An Inviting Daybed
A daybed is such a perfect idea for a guest room. And you can never have too many accessories! I love how these tropical hats are used to decorate this clever little beachside bedroom.
13. Three Boards
The person who owns this room clearly has a fantastic eye for blending organic and modern styles. Just look at the steel lampstands on top of the mixed-grain wood nightstands and those deep green flowers.
And I almost forgot to say, the surfboards used as a headboard look absolutely incredible.
14. Ocean-Inspired Vibe
You can give your bedroom such a breezy atmosphere with warm yellow lighting. It really highlights the blue-tinted surfboard accent, especially against the soothing linen-colored walls.
